Planted in the heart of the Monbazillac vineyard, this beautiful Château du Périgord is located 50 minutes from the hotel. Built between 1550 and 1582 by the lord of Aydie, the Château de Monbazillac is distinguished by its atypical architecture which brilliantly combines medieval defensive systems (four large circular towers, walkway, battlements, loopholes...) and the elegance of the Renaissance.
Walking through the castle, the visitor can admire beautiful rooms and lounges with French ceiling, Renaissance fireplace, herringbone parquet in point of Hungary, Périgord furniture from the 17th century, engravings and archives on the wars of religion, original prints and drawings ...
Permanent exhibitions and theMusée de la Vigne et du Vin immerse you in the heart of local and regional history intimately linked to the culture of the vine and the wine trade.
From the terraces of the park, the visitor will be able to contemplate a magnificent view of the Bergerac valley where the Dordogne flows. After the visit, you will be invited to continue your discovery around a tasting of Monbazillac.
The Château de Monbazillac is open all year round for free or guided tours.
