Bergerac vineyards and wines
From antiquity, the Romans planted the first vines in the land of Bergerac. Since then, the experience of generations of winegrowers has made it possible to produce red, white, dry or sweet wines, early and rosé wines of high quality. Bergerac was one of the first wine regions to gain the status of controlled designation of origin wines in 1936.
The lover of good wines can find excellent products at the bend of the cellars by following the Bergerac Wine Route. This is an opportunity to meet the winegrowers who welcome you to their properties and wine chateaux.
Do not hesitate to stop at the Maison des Vins de Bergerac , a 17th century residence where you will find all the information you need to get to know the Bergerac vineyard better.

AOC Monbazillac, one of the most famous sweet wines in France!
In the heart of Périgord, south of Bergerac, the vineyard extends over the communes of Monbazillac, Colombier, Pomport, Rouffignac-de-Sigoulès and Saint-Laurent-des-Vignes.
Made from a blend of three grape varieties, Sémillon, Sauvignon and Muscadelle, AOC Monbazillac is distinguished by aromas of acacia honey and spices. Figurehead of the Bergerac vineyards, it usually accompanies foie gras, is eaten as an aperitif, but also goes very well with fish in sauce, white meats and cheeses.
